Tonight was the 2-hour season premiere of The Amazing Race 9. They have returned to the roots of the show, and are back to the 11 teams of 2 format.

I am very happy with the teams that they chose for this race, as they are not all the ditzy model type that they’ve been flooding the show with in past seasons. In fact, one of the teams is a self-proclaimed team of nerds in love, while another is a fun-loving team of hippies from San Francisco who talked about the Amazing Race being a “substance” that they could enjoy until it ends. These two teams alone make this season worth watching.

I’ve wanted to compete on this show with my dad every since I started watching back in Season 5. However, there was the restriction that you had to be 21 up until last season’s flop, the Family Edition. I think my chance of being able to compete in this show is going out the window as I am finishing up college and soon entering the real world. Maybe I can get a job working as a cameraman…
